Our ‘Rainforest Romance’ Cairns elopement and micro-wedding event has been created to include everything you need to officially get married, including an enchanting rainforest venue, a beautiful personalised ceremony and a short photography session to capture the moment.

You are also able to choose if you would like to elope, just the two of you, or invite your nearest and dearest and get married in a micro-wedding setting.

There are four packages to choose from to suit your wedding vision and budget.
How does it work?
Our ‘Rainforest Romance’ Cairns micro wedding event has been created to offer couples a no-fuss way to get married. This package takes care of the ceremony and ‘official’ part of your day, including wedding portraits, and family portraits if desired. This means there is minimal amount of planning on your behalf, you just get to arrive and say ‘I do!’.

Our 'Rainforest Romance' will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of May, 2025.
​
You will arrive at for your time slot (either 15 minutes beforehand or at the designated time you are given if you chose the hair and make-up package), our venue is about 40 minutes out of Cairns so please be aware of this. You will then be shown to your ceremony space where you will spend about 30 minutes exchanging beautiful words and marrying your best friend! Afterwards you will spend 30 to 45 minutes having your wedding day captured with your photographer, and group photos if you opted for guests.

Then what?
The beauty of an elopement or a micro-wedding is it is totally up to you!

You could:

Hold a party for your reception and invite all your friends and family to celebrate the rest of your day with you (which is totally fun for them because there’s no waiting around for you guys while you do all the other parts of your wedding day like photos and travel).

Go to dinner with your nearest and dearest and enjoy the Cairns foodie scene.

Enjoy something for just the two of you to celebrate the rest of your day.

Where do we start, the whole team made our entire wedding experience more than we could have ever imagined! Everything was organised and sorted for us from our chosen music, our personal vows, our flowers to match, down to the cute little sunnies to break some of the nerves and have some fun.

What is an elopement?An elopement is where it is just you and your partner who are at your wedding ceremony. We will provide two witnesses that are needed for the official documents to marry you. This can be ideal if you don’t want fuss during your wedding day, perhaps don’t like speaking in front of people and/or don’t want to try and choose who to invite to the ceremony. Afterwards you could then choose to include your family and friends in your day by having a party (reception) to celebrate instead.

What is a micro wedding?A micro-wedding is very similar to a normal wedding but only includes a very small amount of guests, often just immediate family. Like the elopement, you can always choose to include more of your family and friends in your wedding day by holding a party (reception) to celebrate with them after your ceremony.

What happens if it rains?As we will be getting married in the rainforest, this could happen. We will have two clear umbrellas on hand for rain bursts or for photos, however if it is a rainy day we can hold the ceremony under the veranda to keep you dry and still offer views of the creek and gardens.

How many guests can I have?If you decide you would like guests at your wedding, you have two packages to choose from. You can choose our small guest package with up to 8 guests for $4000 or our large package with up to 16 guests for $4500. The reason for the two packages is that this is a small venue and our venue assistant needs to negotiate, organise and curate the arrivals and departures of guests, along with guiding them to where the ceremony is and taking care of any other needs that arise. After our first elopement event in 2024, we quickly realised that the more guests at your micro-wedding, the more time consuming this is for our venue assistant and the rest of the team. It is important you choose the correct package for the correct amount of guests you will be having or you might be charged an extra fee. If you have children they are included in this guest number. If you are unsure about what package suits you, please reach out. Please be aware however, that guests will need to stand as there will be no seating provided. Guests will also need to arrive 15 minutes prior to the time and leave immediately after group photos to ensure there is parking space for the next couple and their guests if they chose to have them.

Do other people get married on the day?Yes, other people will get married on the day, this is what allows us to offer our services at such an amazing price. There will be a half hour time buffer between each couple’s package to help ensure privacy and space at the venue. If you have any concerns about this, please let us know.

What date is the ‘Rainforest Romance’ event available on?We are currently taking bookings for our 2025 ‘Rainforest Romance’ event that is being held on Saturday 3rd of May and Sunday 4th of May 2025 (the long weekend in QLD).

What times are available?We will be offering packages at 10:30am, 12midday, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm on Saturday 3rd. We will be offering packages at 9am, 10:30am, 12midday, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm on Sunday 4th. Packages are for approximately 1 hour.

Where is the ‘Rainforest Romance’ event being held?The ‘Rainforest Romance’ event is being held at a private retreat at Bellenden Kerr on Harvey Creek. It is about 40 minutes outside of Cairns. If you would like more information please contact us.

What if you we don’t like photos or don’t want 30 minutes of photos?This is your wedding and although your package includes the capturing of your day, you can spend the rest of your time after your ceremony how you would like. If you just want a couple of snaps of you of your partner together and then want to opt for a nibbles platter to sit and enjoy in the gorgeous setting that your venue is, you can absolutely do that. Let us know your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Can we add on hair and make-up to Package 1 or Package 2?Yes absolutely, hair and make-up can be added to either package for $400.

Do my children or witnesses count as guests?Yes, all other people included in your wedding are counted as 'guests'. The only people who are not described as guests is you and your partner. Package 1 is a true elopement package and is only for you and your partner. We can also supply witnesses for all packages.
